Militants in Kashmir have stormed an Indian government building and are battling security forces. Police officials said two rebels attacked a heavily-guarded sports stadium in Srinigar and barricaded themselves inside an empty passport office. The sports stadium is the local site of India's January 26th Republic Day ceremonies. Police said a standoff between the militants and security forces continued Saturday afternoon. Members of the Pakistan-based Al-Mansoorain militant group claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier Saturday, a grenade attack by unknown militants in a crowded area of Srinigar killed one civilian and wounded several others. The Al-Mansoorain group clashed with government forces last week, when militants stormed a tax office in Srinigar and set it on fire. At least seven people died in the unrest.
