The second day of the 60-hour hartal called by Awami League and allied parties on Sunday passed amid clashes between hartal supporters and police across the country, leaving more than 200 persons injured. Among the injured persons were former Home Minister and Awami League, MP Mohammd Nasim and city AL leader Mohammad Saeed Khokan.
The police intercepted a big procession led by some AL MPs when it tried to proceed defying police barricade at Russell Square at Dhanmondi area. About twelve persons including AL lawmaker and former Home Minister Mohammad Nasim received serious injuries when police charged baton indiscriminately to disperse the agitated pickets.
