Rice: NATO Holds Best Talks Yet on Iraq

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says NATO has had its best talks yet on Iraq. Speaking after a NATO foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels Wednesday, Ms. Rice said she found what she called a "coming together of common purpose" on Iraq. The 2003 war in Iraq caused a deep split in NATO between members who backed the U-S-led invasion and those who strongly opposed it. Ms. Rice also warned the European Union of the consequences of lifting an arms embargo against China -- and she urged British, French, and German leaders to get tough with Iran in talks to persuade it to give up its nuclear program. Ms. Rice is now in Luxembourg, the final stop on her first trip as Secretary of State.
