In a meeting between the visiting Burmese Foreign Minister Nyan Win and Bangladesh's Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan , a discussion was held on the Rohingya refugee issues.
Bangladesh once again stressed immediate repatriation of the Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh. Nearly 20,000 Rohingyas are still languishing in refugee camps in Bangladesh's Teknaf and Cox's Bazar areas. The Myanmar authorities recently cleared a list of about 6,500 Rohingyas for their repatriation to their homeland.
Bilateral issues including promotion of trade, communication, progress of implementation of various agreements and MoUs signed between the two countries on trade, road links and expansion of agriculture were discussed during the meeting.
