Farida Sarkar ,a former broadcaster in VOA Washington , a writer and a poet breathed her last on Sunday in Dhaka at the age of 48.Farida was known for her talents since her school days ,while she was a student of BAF Shaheen School. She later got a first class in her Master in English from Dhaka University and did another Master from Stonybrook University in New York. She was a teacher of English in North South University as well as in Asia-Prime University . Farida wrote several poems and critical writings.
Since last year she was suffering from cancer. Farida Sarkar left her only son and her husband,Ziauddin Bablu a former minister..
