A Bangladeshi court has sentenced 22 people to death by hanging including BNP leader Hasan Sarker and six others to life in prison for the killing of an opposition member of parliament last year.
Judge Shahed Nooruddin delivered the verdict to a packed courtroom on Saturday, 11 months after the killing of Ahsanullah Master. The lawmaker was fatally shot on May seventh last year when a group of armed men opened fire at a rally near Dhaka of his opposition Awami League.
