More than 70 Bodies Recovered at 2 Iraqi sites


Iraqi authorities say they recovered more than 70 bodies Wednesday at two locations. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani says the remains of more than 50 people were pulled from the Tigris River and identified. He says they are believed to be the people reported kidnapped last week from Madaen. The discovery comes after Iraqi troops were unable to find evidence of the abductions North of the capital, the bodies of 19 Iraqis believed to be soldiers were found in Haditha. Meanwhile, in Baghdad, a suicide bomber blew up his car near a police checkpoint near the party offices of interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, killing one person. And two other bombings Wednesday in Baghdad killed two Iraqi civilians. Despite the violence, President Talabani says he hopes to announce a new Iraqi cabinet Thursday after months of negotiations.
