The Election Commission (EC) has completed all preparations for the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) elections in Bangladesh to be held on Monday.
There will be tight security measures. Over 18,000 security personnel from the army, paramilitary Bangladesh Rifles, Armed Police Battalion, Ansars and Coastguards will be deployed to maintain law and order during the polling.
Returning officer for the CCC election, Golam Quddus said, "We have made all preparations under the rules and regulations of the Election Commission to ensure free and fair polls."
The two mayoral candidates ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin continued their election campaign today.
