A committee to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Habibullah Bahar Choudhury met in Kolkata University . Many intellectuals of West Bengal were present in this first meeting of the committee. Habibullah Bahar was a prominent litterateur , a renowned football player and an active politician of his time who was equally famous in Bangladesh and West Bengal. He was the founding editor of Bulbul a literary magazine published from Kolkata in the 1930s. After the partition of India Habibullah Bahar became the first Health minister of the erstwhile Pakistan.
