After an hour and a half long meeting between Buddhadev Bhattacharya , the Chief Minister of the Indian state of West Bengal and Subhas Ghising , the leader of the Gurkha National Liberation Front (GNLF), in separate statements , they have indicated that they are close to resolving the disputes centering around the hilly region of West Bengal. The Chief Minister has given his commitment to include some of the villages close to the hilly regions to the Hill Council. On the other hand after the Delhi meeting between the central and the state governments and the Hill Council, Ghising will not object to the election of the Council by September this year.
