Bangladesh Court Sentences Six Outlaws to Death


Second Additional District and sessions Judge Rezaul Islam sentenced to death six members of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party and life imprisonment to five others for killing a union parishad chairman and Awami League activist in Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi five years ago. According to the prosecution, Golam Rabbani, the then chairman of Shubhodanga Union Parishad, was slaughtered near Mochmoil Bazar on January 16, 2000 since he refused to allocate a shop to PBCP leader Bikash at Mochmoli Bazar.
