Zohra Alim, the daughter of Abdul Alim – the renowned folk singer of Bangladesh recently visited the USA . She attended a folk festival in New York City. The festival was dedicated in honor of Lalon Shah, Hasan Raza and Abdul Alim. In an interview with VOA Bangla Service, Zohra Alim says that she has been impressed to see the enormous amount of enthusiasm amongst the Bengalis here who have shown their interests in folk music. She also said that contrary to what she thought before she came to the USA, she is delighted to see a love for folk music amongst the general Americans .
