Asian Development Bank has said that a further inflation in Bangladesh might further aggravate economic situation in Bangladesh. ADB also says that this inflation might be caused by increase prices of imported goods, fueled by higher international oil prices and depreciation of Taka. It was also projected that the inflation rate would remain at around 6 per cent through the current fiscal year. Overall, the ADB noted a positive economic performance with a steady expansion in the industry and services sectors despite “serious” flooding .
