British police have charged 23 year-old Ismael Aburahman under anti-terror laws in connection with the failed July 21st bombings in London.
Mr. Abdurahman is the first person to be charged in connection with the incidents in which bombs placed in four locations on London's transit system failed to detonate.
Police say he will appear before a magistrate on Thursday.
British and Italian police have detained four people they believed placed the bombs that failed to go off.
In another development, Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa said his country will deport to Britain a man whom media reports have linked with the July 7 terrorist attacks in London - and with terror-related activities in the United States.
Police arrested Mr. Aswat in Zambia last month.
Britain has declined to confirm reports it wants to question Mr. Aswat in connection with the terrorist attacks on London transport system which killed 56 people, including four suicide bombers.
