Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers Association (Bafeda) in a meeting on Tuesday set the exchange rate of US dollar at Tk 66 for import payments and Tk 65.50 in inter-bank trading. In the last few weeks the value of Taka against Dollar dropped significantly. Bafeda intervened to stabilize the situation. Some local private commercial banks opposed the move.
