Nuclear Agency Demands Iran Stop Nuclear Fuel Work

The International Atomic Energy Agency has demanded that Iran suspend all nuclear activities it resumed last week. The board of the U.N. agency unanimously adopted a resolution Thursday expressing serious concern about Iran's move to resume converting uranium that could be used in nuclear weapons. But the measure, drafted by Britain, France and Germany, stopped shot of referring Iran to the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions. It also calls on IAEA inspectors to verify Iran's compliance by September third. Iranian officials dismissed the resolution as unacceptable.
