A bomb blast took place on Friday night in a Shrine compound at Brahamanbaria during the annual urs of a Muslim saint . When the devotees were meditating , blast shook the place resulting in the deat of one man and injury of more than a hundred people. It is not clear who detonated the bomb which apparently was an improvised explosive device.No one has claimed responsibility for the blast. In the meantime high police officials of the district have been suspended following the blast The Annual Urs is held every year from 10 to 14 August when devotees gather to pay respect to the saint and on this occassion special fairs are arranged.
