A lawmaker from Bangladesh, Najmuddin Alam says that lot of positive steps are being taken to improve the environmental situation in Bangladesh. Najmuddin Alam who is also the chairman of the parliamentary committee on Forest and Environment matters say that pollution in Dhaka has reduced remarkably. He says that they took a very bold step by banning the scooters run on two stroke engines which would emit lots of fumes. He also said that the drainage system has now been freed from the obstructing polythenes. He agreed that they have not been very active in terms of planting trees although they have taken some steps in social a-forestation.
