The West Bengal State of India is on high alert after the bombings in neighboring Bangladesh on Wednesday.
The West Bengal government increased security in the districts bordering Bangladesh. The Director General of State Police said that they are in close contact with Border Security Forces of India. The state government is concerned that terrorists could attempt to destabilize West Bengal.
The ruling CPM party had an emergency meeting and party cadres were instructed to keep vigilance throughout the state. Gautam Gupta has more on the story.
