Bangladeshi Foreign Minister M. Morshed Khan has welcomed Washington's remarks that it stands by Bangladesh as it hunts for suspects in last week's spate of bombings across the country. He told Voice of America that whenever there has been a terrorist strike in Bangladesh, the United States has always stood by the country.
A State Department spokesman said Tuesday that Washington agrees with Dhaka on the need to fight terrorism and has worked closely with Bangladesh in combating it. The spokesman also said Washington is aware that Bangladesh is doing all it can to identify the individuals responsible for the more than 400 bombings that left two people dead and more than 100 injured.
