Quake Toll Rises In Indian Kashmir

Indian authorities say Saturday's earthquake killed more than 600 people in their territory. They say the toll is likely to rise as information from remote mountain villages becomes available. Most of the deaths occurred between Indian Kashmir's main city Srinagar and Uri, which is close the line of control that separates the area from Pakistani-controlled Kashmir. Indian troops are leading rescue and relief operations in Indian Kashmir, digging through rubble with shovels and their bare hands. Two of the region's main highways have been closed by landslides triggered by the quake. Officials say aid is being flown into some of the worst hit areas.
