Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury has alleged that Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) politburo member Anil Biswas has over $282m in a secret bank account in the US, sparking an angry denial from the communist leader.
Chowdhury, against whom a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued by a West Bengal court in a twin murder case, made the allegation while speaking at the New Delhi studio of Star Ananda, a Bengali TV channel.
The claim by the MP from Berhampore triggered an angry reaction from Biswas, who threatened to sue Chowdhury.
