Officials to Begin Talks About SAFTA Issues


Official experts from the seven-member SAARC states will meet in the Nepalese Capital of Kathmandu Tuesday to negotiate the outstanding issues of SAFTA for introducing free-trade area in South Asia on January 1.

A four-member Bangladesh delegation headed by deputy secretary of the Ministry of Commerce AKM Fazlur Rahman already arrived in Katmundu to attend the 3-day meeting.

Director general (SAARC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruhul Amin, deputy chief of Bangladesh Tariff Commission Mostafa Abid Khan and second secretary (Customs) of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Syed Mushfiqur Rahman are other members of the delegation.
