United Arab Emirates' Warid Telecom became the sixth operator in Bangladesh's booming mobile phone market.
The company deposited the licence fee of 50 million dollars and taka 200 million (three million dollars) as bank guarantee fees.
In September, the group signed a one-billion-dollar deal with the Bangladesh government. It singled out the country's fast-growing mobile phones as the main sector into which it would put funds.
