India's southern city of Bangalore is on alert after an unidentified gunman killed one professor and injured three others. Police say the attacker fired indiscriminately at the people as they came out of an international science seminar at the Indian Institute of Science. Most of the injured were scientists and laboratory technicians. Police believe an automatic weapon was used and said though only one person opened fire, the attacker may have had accomplices. The intruder escaped under cover of darkness.
