India’s Interior Minister Visits Tin Bigha Corridor

India’s Interior Minister Shivraj Patil visited the Tin Bigha Corridor when he went to the District of Cooch-Behar in West Bengal. He crossed over to Panbari check-post in Patgram in Bangladesh where he met senior officials of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).

The BDR personnel at Panbari gave a guard of honor to Patil, who arrived in an Indian Air Force helicopter from Siliguri in the morning. Twenty senior officials were with him when he visited the Corridor.

India handed over the corridor to Bangladesh in 1992.

Amir Khasru has more on the story.
