IMF has expressed doubts about the way Islamic banks operate in Bangladesh. IMF has asked to scrutinize whether these banks have any connections with the terrorist activities in Bangladesh.
An IMF delegation visiting Bangladesh has held a few rounds of meeting with the officials of Bangladesh Bank where it has raised the issue of monitoring the activities of the Islamic Banks. They have asked Bangladesh Bank to promulgate rules of operations for the Islamic Banks in Bangladesh.
