Eleven Islamist parties including hard-line Hizbut Tahrir Bangladesh rallied in the capital Dhaka on Friday to protest the publication of cartoons depicting Prophet Hazrat Muhammad in European newspapers.
Demonstrators demanded new laws on blasphemy and urged Bangladesh government to break diplomatic relations with Denmark. Protestors burnt Danish flag and President Bush’s effigy. They also urged people to boycott western products.
