Death Toll Rises in Bangladeshi Building Collapse

Rescue teams in Bangladesh have recovered two more bodies but no survivors of a building collapse two days ago that killed at least 20 people.

An army official says rescuers are still working in the rubble on Monday in the capital, Dhaka. Soldiers and firefighters are using heavy equipment to remove debris while oxygen is pumped into the wreckage.

Two people were pulled out alive Sunday but officials say they have little hope of finding more survivors. Hospitals in Dhaka are treating more than 40 survivors.

The multi-story building collapsed Saturday as construction workers were converting the upper floors from factory use into a 500-bed medical center.

Officials are investigating the cause of the collapse, and are looking into possible faulty construction. Police are searching for the building's owner.

The tragedy was the second in Bangladesh within days. On Thursday, a fire killed 52 people in a textile factory in Chittagong.
