Sheikh Hasina , the former Prime Minister and presently the opposition leader of Bangladesh says that during her regime ( 1996-2001) , the achievements of the then government is worthy of mention .
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service , the Awami League Chief said that during her government’s time power , diesel and fertilizer sectors were given due importance . People had seen productions go high and prices of daily commodities were kept low. Hasina says that her government not only succeeded in curbing terrorism but also resolved issues involving Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Sheikh Hasina , in this interview , also gave reasons for demanding reforms in the caretaker government system as well as in the electoral process in Bangladesh.
