Nearly 200,000 officers and staffers of the State Bank of India began their indefinite strike from Monday demanding an increase in their pension. The strike is going on in 9022 branches of the bank across India . 168 branches , alone in Kolkata , was shut due to the strike.
Although ATM facilities were operative, the fear is that the money in the machine would soon finish. The High Court in Delhi has given an order not to demonstrate or shout slogans within five hundred meters of the State Bank building.
