Sharmin Ahmed is a writer who has dedicated herself to the activities in promoting peace amongst people of different faiths. Sharmeen is the co-founder and director of the Minaret of Freedom Institute.
She an advisor of a number of social organizations including Interfaith Dialogue . She has also contributed to a recently published book , Voices of American Muslims. In an exclusive interview with Sharmeen she talks about her writings and her activities.
The events of 1971 when millions of people were killed in Bangladesh and later when Sharmeen’s father , Tajuddin Ahmed the first prime minister of the exiled government of Bangladesh was killed in a prison by a group of young army officers formulated Sharmeen’s own thoughts .
