Internet Video Said to be Top Al-Qaida Fugitive in Iraq

An Internet Web site has posted a video purporting to show fugitive terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi vowing that the United States will be defeated in Iraq.

The video shows a bearded male dressed in black and wearing a military vest. He is both meeting with masked men and speaking as he faces a camera. The tape has not been authenticated.

The video follows the release Sunday of an audio tape of Osama bin Laden that encouraged Muslims to support al-Qaida's war with the West. It also came one day after a triple bombing in Egypt that killed at least 18 people.

The purported Zarqawi video was aired as Iraq's Prime Minister-designate Jawad al-Maliki works to form a national unity government.

Mr. Maliki was nominated as prime minister Saturday after Iraq's Shi'ite, Sunni Arab and Kurdish parties settled a four-month deadlock over leadership positions.

In violence Tuesday, police in Baghdad said a bomb killed at least two people in the mainly Shi'ite Sadr City neighborhood.

Police say the bomb wounded three others when it exploded near the office of radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr - a militia leader and major Shi'ite figure.

Elsewhere in Baghdad, two bomb attacks wounded four police officers. And south of the capital, gunmen killed a school teacher.
