Mahmudur Rahman , the advisor of oil-energy ministry in Bangladesh says that the had ample stock of fuel in its storage as well as in supply pipeline supported by country's banking financing system.
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Rahman says that in order to stop fuel smuggling to India , where the price of fuel is double than what it is in Bangladesh, a monitoring process has been put into place. Rahman says , the fuel price of Bangladesh is supported by an enormous amount of government subsidies .
He also claims that the fuel price in Bangladesh is atleast 5/6 times less than than what it is in America. He says the actual situation has to be explained to the general public and hoarding and smuggling must be stopped with active support of the people of Bangladesh.
