Bangladeshi officials said that the country's president, Iajuddin Ahmed, was flown to Singapore for treatment of a heart ailment.
The president's press secretary said on Wednesday Mr. Ahmed was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday after complaining of chest pains.
Doctors had advised the 75-year-old president to fly to Singapore for further treatment.
