Up to 100 Bangladeshis have been injured in clashes triggered by a road accident that left four people dead.
Police say the clashes started after a bus carrying university students in the northwestern Rajshahi district on Wednesday rammed a pickup van, killing four of its occupants.
Residents in the area went on a rampage to protest the accident. Police used tear gas and batons to disperse the stone-throwing mobs.
Road accidents blamed on faulty vehicles, bad driving and poor enforcement of traffic laws are common in South Asian countries.
