In spite of the movement for pressing on certain demands for reforming the electoral process and the care taker government , political parties from both sides of the bench have begun preparing for the upcoming election.
Sheikh Hasina , the head of the major opposition party Awami League in Bangladesh has been meeting several leaders of her party at the grass root level. BNP Chairperson and the incumbent Prime Minister Khaleda Zia would begin meeting the local leaders of her party from this saturday.
BNP Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuyian thinks that the aim of these meetings are to try and identify a suitable candidate for the election. Although some amongst BNP also think that party activists at the local levels are also being prepared to face the chasllenges of the opposition.
