Professor Amit Shovon Ray Analyzes Opening of Nathu La

Two of the most populous nations of the world India and China, once bitter rivals, are getting closer day by day.

They have now re-opened the traditional silk route through the Himalayan pass of Nathu La after more than four decades. This traditional trade route was closed after a brief war in 1962 between India & China.

Indian economist, Prof. Amit Shovon Ray of New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University analyzes this new development in an interview with VOA.
