India’s First Intellectual Property Law School Opens

India’s first intellectual property rights law school was inaugurated in Kolkata on Sunday.

The new school will operate from the city’s campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. The Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law is to start its current session with 55 students in its two programs. It plans on ramping up the “headcount” to 800 by 2011, with the Kolkata campus accommodating at least 300 by 2009.

Paramashish Ghosh Roy has more on the story.
