US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher yesterday said major political parties should sit together to talk all the electoral discords over so that the next polls could be held in a free and fair manner. He said that the US is interested in the process of the election and not in the result.
Mr Boucher was addressing a press conference Hotel Radisson in Dhaka. He also said constitutional provisions guarantee democracy and state ways of resolving any national crisis and hoped that the political parties would be able to resolve problems . Although Boucher praised the recent economic growth but added that corruption is one of the major hurdles to the economic development and poverty alleviation.
