The health condition of poet Shamsur Rahman deteriorated further on Monday with the doctors fighting a grim battle to keep him alive.
The nine-member medical board, formed to supervise his treatment, said they were trying their best to steer him out of danger.
They examined the health of the poet on Monday and said the blood-pressure was fluctuating following myocardial infarction three weeks ago and he was given additional medicine to keep it under control.
The other vital organs of his body were not functioning as they should, they said. His liver and kidneys also deteriorated for fluctuation of blood-pressure. The level of consciousness also decreased on Monday and he was on ventilator. He also vomited thrice on Monday.
