Grenade Blast Kills At Least Four During Major Indian Festival

A powerful explosion has killed at least four people, including one child, in northeastern India during a major Hindu religious festival.

Indian police say a grenade exploded on Wednesday in a crowded Hare Krishna temple in Imphal, the capital of Manipur state. The blast wounded at least 40 people, including at least four foreigners.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, and police have made no arrests.

Several tribal separatist groups in India's northeastern states have been fighting for separate or independent states.

The temple belongs to the International Society of Krishna Consciousness. Hindus across the country are celebrating the birthday of their god Krishna.
