In this edition of Hello Washington the topic of discussion was: Role of the Inter-Faith Groups in the West. Our two distinguished guests were Sharmin Ahmed and Dr. Monazir Ahsan.
Sharmin Ahmad, a recipient of the Woman of Distinction award and co-founder and director of a think tank The Minaret of Freedom Institute, has organized and led numerous workshops on human rights and interfaith bridge building. Ms. Ahmad, a peace activist, is a consultant on interfaith dialogue and peace education.
Dr. M. Manazir Ahsan is a leading member of Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and the Chairman of Interfaith, MCB. Dr. Ahsan has an M.A. in Islamic History and Culture and has his doctorate in Middle Eastern History from University of London.
The panelists discussed resolving conflicts through interfaith dialogue and respecting other faiths.
