Kolkata’s Mayor Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya proposed a completely new drainage system for the city to Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi.
Mayor Bhattacharya said that they are planning to create a completely new drainage system that will cost Rs 1,500 crore. He said they are trying to get Rs 500 crore from the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. The state government has to provide 15 per cent of the total money required and the remaining 50 per cent will be provided by KMC.
