Aref Chowdhury is a member of technical staff of the Bell Laboratories in Quantum Information and Optics Research Department.
His research focuses on optical phase conjugation and wavelength conversion in ferroelectrics and semiconductors; nonlinear properties of negative refractive index materials; interaction of DNA with ferroelectrics and semiconductors; high-speed traveling – wave modulators.
Technology Review, MIT's magazine of innovation, had named Bell Labs researcher Aref Chowdhury to the 2004 list of the world's 100 Top Young Innovators.
