A dawn to dusk strike called by the Bangladesh Auto-rickshaw Workers' League (BAWL) created havoc and disrupted normal routines in Dhaka.
Their demands include – giving daily deposit at government fixed rate of taka 300 instead of present taka 550 to 600, receiving receipts of deposits, the rehabilitation of the evicted two-stroke auto-rickshaw drivers and arrest and punishment of the criminals who are engaged in auto-rickshaw stealing, and an end to snatching and killing of the auto-rickshaw drivers.
