Bangladeshi Government, Opposition Meet on Reform Demands

Officials from Bangladesh's ruling and main opposition parties have met to discuss electoral reform ahead of January's vote.

The representatives of the Bangladesh National Party and the main opposition Awami League held talks on Thursday at the parliament building in Dhaka.

The Awami League and its 13 opposition allies have threatened to boycott January's elections unless reforms are put in place and key electoral officials are replaced.

Opposition supporters have held several protests to make their demands known.

Matiur Rahman Choudhury has more on the story.
