Professor Yunus  pays Tributes to the Martyrs of Bangladesh : Longs for Unity

Professor Yunus began his day on Saturday by placing floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar and National Memorial in Savar. A huge number of people rushed to both the spots and greeted the Nobel Prize winner there. He first placed a wreath of red roses at the Shaheed Minar and then drove to the National Memorial in Savar where he laid another wreath.

Yunus said he had pledged to the martyrs that he would work to realize their dreams. ‘I have pledged to them that today we have started our new journey. We will bring them greater honor in the future,’ he said.

Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday urged both the ruling and opposition parties to resolve the political crisis in a single sitting immediately and reach a consensus for participating in the upcoming elections.

Addressing a gathering of local reporters at his residence, Yunus said that the dialogue seems to be progressing smoothly so we have grounds to hope that it will reach a successful conclusion.
