Bangladeshis have set fire to an election commission office outside the capital, as thousands of opposition activists renewed their protest against election officials they say are biased.
Police say suspected opposition supporters torched a district election office on Tuesday, while security was tightened in the capital, Dhaka, to prevent angry demonstrators from attacking the commission headquarters there.
An alliance of 14 opposition parties has been leading sometimes-violent protests for the past month to demand new election officials.
It says the current officials could rig upcoming national elections in favor of the outgoing government led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
