West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday announced that the state government would seek a CBI inquiry into the unnatural death of 18-year old Tapasi Malik at the Tata Motors' site in Singur.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is not backing down and has given the state government 24 hours time to stop the land acquisition in Singur. She said that if the government met her demands then the 48-hour general strike she has called would also be called off.
